AUSTIN (KXAN) - Friday’s chances for snow remain good for, at the very least, a dusting.

The First Warning Weather team is continuing to track a developing winter storm over West Texas, which is expected to bring a quick bout of snow to our area on Friday.

Snow began falling in the Lubbock area, westward into New Mexico, and the low pressure system is expected to continue producing snowfall as it tracks into the

Hill Country early Friday morning, then across the rest of Central Texas during the day.

Travel problems are expected to be minimal, as temperatures remain above freezing until after the precipitation ends tomorrow evening. Trace amounts to 1/2-inch of snow accumulation is possible on mainly grassy areas in the Hill Country and Austin metro area. Slightly higher totals of 1/2- to two-inches could fall from Fayette County, south to Victoria.

Winter Weather Advisories have been issued for all of Central Texas for Friday. Details on this winter storm can be found in the KXAN Weather Blog.
