HAYS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - Hays County Sheriff’s Office reports flooding happened Wednesday night in an area off of FM 3237, west of Kyle, between Kyle and Wimberley.

Officials said the area received 2 inches of rain in 30 minutes.

A recreational vehicle subdivision in the York Creek area was evacuated. Six RVs were evacuated due to rising water flowing below the vehicles.  Wimberley firefighters say fortunately none of the RVs washed away.

Water also rose in the Rolling Oaks subdivision.  Despite four calls for rising water around homes authorities said residents were not in danger.

There was also a report of a car floating in York Creek.  Deputies, however, said they were able to get the driver out safely.

Although the water quickly receded late Wednesday, deputies say some roads remained closed in the overnight hours Thursday because of debris on the roadways.
