LAGO VISTA, Texas (KXAN) - A small plane on its way to Lago Vista, Texas crashed in Arizona and killed all four people on board.
Aircraft registration shows the plane belonged to David Tuntland of Cedar Park, Texas, who was a pilot and flight instructor.
A close friend of Tuntland said he was a great friend, pilot and flight instructor in a close-knit pilot community.
Authorities said the pilot was reportedly sick earlier in the day.
A Web site tracking some commercial and private flights indicates the plane departed from Lakeway Airpark just before 10 a.m. Tuesday on its way to Holbrook, Ariz. before flying to Santa Rosa, Calif.
Officials said witnesses described the plane as dropping from the sky, seeming out of nowhere.
Federal Aviation Authorities said the twin-engine Beechcraft TravelAir BE-95 took off from Santa Rosa, Calif. and stopped in the northeastern Arizona town of Holbrook to refuel Wednesday around 4 p.m.
Officials said it was on its way to Lago Vista, Texas when it crashed about a quarter-mile east of Holbrook, Ariz. with three males and one female aboard.
Autopsies will be conducted in Tuscon, Ariz. authorities said.
