AUSTIN (KXAN) - A local man was arrested on charges of online harassment after his former boss's phone number was used in a bogus dating ad posted on Craigslist.

Police arrested Michael Abreu, 22, after tracking down his IP address connected to the post.

Police said the victim began receiving phone calls at 4 a.m. on Feb. 11 from a man asking for her by her first name. She asked the man where he got her name from and he said he was responding to an ad posted on Craigslist for a woman in her forties with a slim build in search of younger men.

Police said the victim was able to track down the Craigslist ad and contacted authorities. Police identified the suspect as Abreu through his email account.

The victim told police that he was a former employee whom she fired in January for behavioral problems.
