BASTROP COUNTY (KXAN) - Fire crews contained a brush fire that burned 350 acres in Bastrop County Monday evening.
The fire spread through the Griffith League Scout Ranch, north of Bastrop, next to Camp Swift.
The Bastrop Fire Department and several other agencies worked to stop the flames.
Blake Clampffer with the Bastrop County Office of Emergency Management said crews will go over the 300 acres affected with bulldozers to fully control the fire.
Temperatures neared 100 degrees in the area, meaning firefighters had to battle both the flames, and exhaustion from the extreme heat.
The American Red Cross of Central Texas provided food and drink for emergency personnel who worked to putting out the brush fire.
