Collision shuts down two lanes of I-35

AUSTIN (KXAN) - After a collision Thursday afternoon, two northbound lanes of I-35 at Cesar Chavez Street are closed.

Austin police has six units at the scene, and there are no known injuries. The APD watch commander said it is a nasty 'fender-bender.'

Meanwhile, another collision Thursday afternoon at 50 North I-35 and Haskell Street sent one male to the hospital.

It happened just one block north of Lady Bird Lake. The multivehicle collision had a medic evaluate five patients, four of whom refused treatment.

Officials said a male was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge without life-threatening injuries.
