AUSTIN (KXAN) - Tree experts with the city decided fewer trees need to be cut down near Barton Springs Pool.
A subcommittee recommended Monday night the Austin Parks and Recreation Department cut down just three trees, a significant drop from 27 slated to go in the original recommendation.
The three doomed trees will be chopped within the next two weeks, and city arborists will continue to study the remaining trees for safety.
