AUSTIN (KXAN) - Capital Metro officials have banned smoking at its 2,700 bus stops throughout the city.
The Board unanimously approved the change at Wednesday's meeting, meaning signs will now be posted at each bus stop in the city by the end of February announcing the change.
It would ask for people not to smoke within 15 feet of the stop.
The ban goes into effect March 1, 2012.
Smoking was already banned from Park and Ride Centers and MetroRail stations.
