AUSTIN (KXAN) - As a result of this week's torrrential rains, it's no surprise that area burn bans have been lifted.

Officials from Williamson County and Blanco County on Thursday lifted bans that were put in place just two weeks ago, on Aug. 24.

The Texas Forestry Service said the Keetch-Byran Drought Index number is 109 for Williamson County.

The drought index ranges from 0 to 800, where a drought index of 0 represents no moisture depletion, and an index of 800 represents absolutely dry conditions, according to Texas Weather Connection .
