They explained that some inmates are allowed to work on vehicles as part of learning a trade. Corder was previously employed as a pilot and an air traffic controller. He had only served four months of his 11-year sentence.

He is described as:

Corder's conviction

Corder and another man, Melvin Alexander Duran, along with a juvenile passenger, were caught in April 2010 in San Marcos after authorities saw duffel bags being loaded into a Suburban from a private plane at the San Marcos Airport.

Nearly 850 pounds of marijuana were confiscated by authorities, and Cordera arrested and booked on $80,000 bond at the time.

Duran was also charged in the case.
