Driver in chase on SH 95 dies in wreck
Fled from constable attempting to serve warrant

BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A pursuit in Bastrop County ended in a death on Friday afternoon.
The Texas Department of Public of Safety said a Travis County Constable was serving a warrant when someone in a vehicle fled the scene around 1:30 p.m.
The chase ended when the suspect ran into a tree on State Highway 95 near Big Sandy Creek, which is inbetween Bastrop and Elgin. The driver of the vehicle died at the scene.
Travis County Sheriff's Office said the agency involved in the pursuit was Travis County Constable Precinct Five.
The DPS is handling the investigation. No names were immediately available.
