BASTROP COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - An overnight fire in Bastrop County destroyed a mobile home. But thanks to the family dog, everyone inside the home got out safely.
According to David Gahagan, Fire Chief with Bastrop County ESD No. 1, the fire happened just after 4 a.m. in the 140 block of Hog Eye Road in western Bastrop County.
The two women inside the home were alerted to the fire when their dog started barking. When they ran outside, they noticed there were flames surrounding their home.
Authorities believe the winds sparked an electrical fire from the refrigerator that was in the garage, which then spread to the mobile home.
No one was injured but the home was a complete loss.
