AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin's Zilker Park has now been officially closed in preparation for the fast-approaching Austin City Limits Festival.

The annual festival which is scheduled to begin on Oct. 12  will keep the park closed until Oct. 19.

Zilker Botanical Gardens will also be closed, as well. The 351-acre park will be closed after the festival until further notice to give crews enough time to clean up.

Performers expected to take the stage include:

  • Red Hot Chilli Peppers
  • AVICII
  • The Roots
  • Gotye
  • Florence and The Machine

Most of the regular tickets are sold out but there are still a few VIP, Platinum and travel packages available for those who still wish to attend.
