Zilker Great Lawn closing for repairs

Post-ACL Fest maintenance still needed

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin Parks and Recreation Department will be continuing the closure of the northern portion of Zilker Metropolitan Park from Saturday though Oct. 28 scheduled for post-Austin City Limits Music Festival turf maintenance of the Great Lawn.

Immediately following the maintenance of the Great Lawn, a majority of the Great Lawn will be closed for the staging of the Trail of Lights Festival.  This and other areas of Zilker Metropolitan Park, , 2100 Barton Springs Road, may be temporarily closed to park patrons through Jan. 7, 2013.   

Park patrons are urged to stay out of closed areas of the park for their safety.  The 2012 Trail of Lights events are slated to take place Dec. 15–23.
