A good night for Travis County incumbents

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Down-ballot Incumbents from both parties in Travis County rolled to comfortable victories in Tuesday's primaries.

Sheriff Gregg Hamilton and District Attorney Rosemary Lehmberg jumped out to early leads and held them Tuesday in the Democratic primary in Travis County. 

Bruce Elfant also posted a wide margin with an early 73-27 percent lead over Stanley Wilson in the run for Travis County Tax collector. 

Republican state Rep. Paul Workman easily down challenger Ryan Downton by a 2-1 margin.

Ron Davis held a sizeable lead in the Democratic race for Travis County Commissioner for Precinct 1.

In Precinct 3 on the GOP side, Gerald Daugherty outpaced Jim Strickland and Ira Yates. Karen Huber trounded Alberto Gonzalez with 78 percent on the Democratic side.
