AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are investigating an accident that killed a four-year-old girl in northwest Austin on Tuesday afternoon.
Police said a woman believed to be the mother of three children who were passengers in a Dodge Durango was driving in the 12000 block of Riata Vista Circle when she ran off the road and struck a tree.
All the children -- 5-year-old boy and twin four-year-old girls -- were taken to Dell Children's Hospital and the mother was transported to a hospital in Round Rock for treatment.
Police said one of the twins died at the hospital a few hours later; the rest of the children are expected to recover from their injuries.
