AUSTIN (KXAN) - This might be one for the "shady deal" category.
Austin police this week arrested a woman they said had sold knock-off Louis Vuitton sunglasses online to an undercover officer over a four-month period.
Keshvi Dhingra, 28, is charged with trademark counterfeiting, which is a state jail felony.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit, an Austin officer suspected that Dhingra was selling the fakes, so he arranged to make some purchases beginning in early March. By mid-June, he had purchased more than a dozen pair and spent more than $1,800.
The goods were investigated by a private investigator who works for several designer labels. The investigator determined that the glasses were not from Lous Vuitton.
Dhingra's bond was set at $5,000.
