AUSTIN (KXAN) - Whole Foods Market said it is recalling a portion of Whole Catch Wild Alaskan Sockeye Salmon sold in 4-ounce packages because it may be contaminated with a dangerous organism.

The Austin-based grocer said on its website that line of the product recalled carries the lot code number 7425A2298B. The recalled product was not sold in any store in Texas, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said

No illnesses have been reported, Whole Food said. But a sample of the product tested positive for listeria.

The product is sold in stores in olorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Kansas, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Rhode Island, and Utah.

Whole Foods says it may contain Listeria Monocytogenes, an organism that  "can cause a sometimes fatal infection in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems."

"Although healthy individuals may suffer short term symptoms," the recall notice says, "such as high fever, severe headaches, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women."

"Customers should dispose of the product in the garbage and wash their hands immediately to avoid any potential cross-contamination," the FDA said on its website. "Full refunds will be given at the store."
