AUSTIN (KXAN) - Repair work was under way on South First Street early Wednesday morning.
An Austin police officer reported the leak to Austin Water Utility at about 4:30 a.m. Wednesday.
Water flowed in the section of South First between Radam Lane and St. Elmo Road.
Crews worked to shut off the water leak and bypass that segment, trying to minimize the impact to customers in the area and keep their service on.
