According to the commission, the session will offer insights from elected officials and others who advocate on behalf of Texas veterans and their families.

There will also be a series of general sessions discussing a host of topics, including an industry employer panel, a veteran educational benefits panel and a women’s veteran panel.

Other breakout sessions will focus on claims, employment, education, entrepreneurship and business ownership, criminal justice, mental health, and social media.

A veterans expo is scheduled for 1 p.m. that will include representatives from state, local, and federal government agencies.

Wednesday’s activities will include a closing session with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst as the keynote speaker.
