AUSTIN (KXAN) - A student at the University of Texas at Austin was stabbed while getting off of a bus by someone she heard talking to himself, saying "Get out of my head."
According to a police affidavit, police were sent to the 11900 block of North Lamar Boulevard just before 10 a.m. Thursday to in response to a distress call. Officers found the woman bleeding.
The woman said she was going to work in the area and she was accosted leaving the bus by someone in a ball cap talking loudly to himself. Not seeing anyone else, the woman told police she was attempting to call her father on her cell phone.
Then, the man approached and hit her in the shoulder with an object sharp enough to cut her twice. Then he ran off.
When officers arrived, the saw a man who matched the description about a 100 yards away. The woman identified him as the attacker.
The man, identified as Edward Williamsen, 43, was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon. His bail was set at $25,000.
