AUSTIN (KXAN) - With the Superbowl this weekend police in Austin are taking no chances with drunk drivers.
This is a "no-refusal weekend," so police will be stepping up patrols.
It also means you will be required to submit to an alcohol blood test if you refuse a breath test.
TXDOT is using the big game to send an important message about drinking and driving.
They have public service announcements warning folks that they could easily get drunk at game day parties -- then go out on the road.
According to TXDOT, football game days are the heaviest days for alcohol consumption.
The "Know When to Pass" campaign focuses on telling fans when it is the right time to pass up the car keys.
