What's their secret for their long lives?

AUSTIN (KXAN) - In Northwest Austin, twins celebrated their 90th birthday with family and friends.

Earnestine Jordan and Earlene Witt celebrated their 90th birthday, with the requisite cake and plenty of friends.

What is their secret?

"I feel good and I attribute that to the pool out there," Jordan said. "I also stay busy, have lots of company and get around."

Both women enjoyed long marriages. Jordan's husband was an Air Force pilot who served in World War II.

Witt's husband also served overseas. They were married 64 years.

Her secret? "Don't ever stay mad. If you live with someone for long you know what they like and he knew what I liked, so we pretty much worked everything out," Witt said.

Ilan Goddard's mother knew the sisters and he's known them since he was a tot. He learned a lot.

"I've learned the importance of family staying close together," Goddard said. "That's what I learned the most from them, that's why we stay close."

For the past nine years, the sisters have lived in adjoining apartments.

"Someone asked why we didn't live in one apartment," Jordan said. "I said we're close enough."

As the celebration went on, the ladies shared old family photos and memories, with their friends.

"It's been the greatest, the greatest one yet," Witt said, laughing. "I might let you all give me another one."
