AUSTIN (KXAN) - Starting next month, the Transportation Security Administration will allow some previous restricted items, including pocket knives, back on airplanes.
According to NBC News, knives like a Swiss army knife with blades less than 2.5 inches long will be permitted. Box cutters and knives with locking blades will still be prohibited in your carry-on.
The TSA will also let lacrosse sticks and ski poles on board.
The TSA says the changes reflect its overall assessment of risks to travelers and are in alignment with international standards.
The changes will go into effect on April 25.
