AUSTIN (KXAN) - AUSTIN (KXAN) – A trail of cash led the Austin Police Department to find the suspects from a robbery where police ay the suspect escaped on a bicycle.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit released Tuesday, 19-year-old Samuel Graham left on a bicycle after threatening the cashier with a gun, stealing cash and the cash register drawer at the Discoteca, 6212 E. Riverside Drive.
But as he left, the affidavit says, Graham was dropping cash. And that led the police to find him. Another man who was not charged and did not enter the business, followed him into a wooded area by foot, according to APD.
Graham and the second man were found in a tent near where the robbery happened. Police officers first found a Daisy pellet/bb gun that resembled a real semi-automatic pistol, and then, the tent where the suspects where found.
Both men were taken to the Austin Police Headquarters after confirming the witnesses’ descriptions of both men. Graham told APD details of the robbery plus additional information on where to find the rest of the robbery’s evidence.
Graham is charged with aggravated robbery
