AUSTIN (KXAN) - The case against the owners of Yassine Enterprises has had its share of twists and turns since state and federal authorities raided several popular downtown night spots on March 22. Here is where it stands as of Jan. 25, 2013.
Hussein Ali “Mike” Yassine
Jan. 25, 2013: Sentenced to 151 months in federal prison on laundering charges. Will serve three years of probation after. The sentence, which works out to 12 years, 7 months is the minimum range of the suggested guidelines for the amount he was responsible for. He will also have to pay $60,000 in fines. He also faces deportation.
October 2012: Found guilty on four counts.
Mohammed Ali Yassine, also known as "Steve," "Steve Austin" and "Hammudih"
October 2012: Pleaded guilty to a federal drug charge and was sentenced to one year and one day in prison. Stephen Orr, his attorney, said his client pleaded guilty to a drug-distribution charge and will be deported after he serves sentence.
Hadi Ali Yassine
Jan. 25, 2013: Sentenced to 60 months in prison and $30,000 in fines.
October 2012: Fiound guilty on three counts.
Nizar Hakiki, also known as "Nino"
Dec. 3, 2012: Pleaded guilty to one count of transferring a firearm. Sentencing March 1
Karim Faiq
Han. 11, 2013: Pleaded guilty to one count of misprision of a felony, meaning he was aware a crime was committed. Was awaiting sentencing when he disappeared in April 2012 after failing a drug test and was arrested in November in Florida.
Marisse Marthe Ruales, also known as " Madi," executive assistant to Yassine brothers. Charges include:
Alejandro Melendrez, also known as "Alex" and "Cueta"
May 2013: Pleaded guilty to one count of distribution of cocaine; sentenced to 46 months
