SXSW seeks volunteers for 2013 festival

AUSTIN (KXAN) - SXSW is three-months away but the festival is already preparing for the big even and they need volunteers to help.

The Film, Interactive and Music conference relies on volunteers each year to make the event run smoothly.

SXSW takes place from Mar. 8th through Mar. 17th, 2013 and organizers say they are looking for a multitude of volunteers.

Jobs range from festival production to conference activities including registration, information, trade show, technical support, and much more.  Day and night positions are available during the conference. 

Volunteers must be able to work a minimum of 30 hours or three-shifts during the event, depending on their crew type.

Applications are available online and crew shift selections will take place at the Volunteer Call on Saturday, January 19, 2013 between 3:00 and 5:00 p.m. and Tuesday, January 29, 2013 between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m. at the Austin Convention Center, Ballroom ABC on the First Floor.

The SXSW Film Festival runs from March 8 - 16, 2013; the Film Conference runs from March 8 - 12, 2013; the SXSW Interactive Festival runs from March 8 - 12, 2013; the SXSW Music Conference and Festival runs from March 12 - 17, 2013.
