AUSTIN (KXAN) - A SWAT situation in east Austin ended peacefully Monday afternoon in the 3300 block of Hycreek Drive.

Officers were originally at the house to serve a warrant around 11:45 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they tried calling the suspect asking him to come out. The suspect, identified as Timothy Drake, 32, hung up on police several times.

Police believed the suspect may have been armed and called out SWAT around 1 p.m.

A woman and two children were inside the house with the suspect and exited the home unharmed around 2:25 p.m. Drake came out 20 minutes later, around 2:45 p.m.

Drake is charged with possession of a controlled substance. If it is determined the woman and two children were held against their will, he could be charged with unlawful restraint and kidnapping.
