SWAT at apartment in northwest Austin

Man refuses to come out of his apartment

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are the scene of a SWAT call in the 6200 block of McNeil Drive, just west of Parmer Lane in northwest Austin.

Just after 7 p.m., officers went to the Colonial Village at Quarry Oaks Apartments to check on a suicidal male; when they got there, the man refused to come out.

It is unknown whether or not the man has a weapon, but SWAT was called to assist around 8 p.m.

Police did evacuate nearby residents as a precautionary measure.

Update at 8:30 p.m.: The man was taken into custody without incident.
