AUSTIN (KXAN) - The man whose body was found inside a parked truck in the middle of a North Austin street on Monday morning was shot to death, police said later in the afternoon.

His death was ruled a homicide.

Officers were called to the 200 block of Lola drive near U.S. 183 just before 6 a.m. There they found 42-year-old Alejandro Hernandez slumped over in the driver’s seat with what appeared to be a gunshot wound.

The driver's side window is also shattered.

Investigators asked anyone with information to call the homicide tip line at 512-477-3588. Or they can call Crimestoppers at 512-472-TIPS, or text Tip 103.
