AUSTIN (KXAN) - Street closures are planned for downtown on Saturday and Tuesday, surrounding Mardi Gras festivities. Most shutdowns will begin at 9 p.m. both days.
Sixth Street will be closed from I-35 west to Brazos Street each day from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. the following day.
Closures will also be in place for San Jacinto, Trinity, Neches, Red River and Sabine streets between 5th and 7th Street.
Neches Street between 6th and 7th Street will be closed starting at 5:30 p.m. both days.
Downtown exit ramps on I-35 will also be closed for the event. Other surrounding streets and service roads could be closed at the Austin Police Department’s discretion.
