AUSTIN (KXAN) - Two fires in two separate bathrooms at Bowie High School on Friday evening lead to the evacuation of the school.
When firefighters arrived on scene around 5:30 p.m., they found two small fires in two different bathrooms. While there was minimal damage, smoke did infiltrate one wing of the school.
AFD said there were some faculty and students still in the building at the time but everyone got out safely.
Investigators said the fire was intentionally set and damaged is estimated around $5,000.
AISD police is working with fire investigators to determine what caused the fire.
