Sketch of alleged attacker released

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are asking the public's assistance in identifying a man who assaulted a woman in North Austin  last week. 

Authorities said the victim was walking in a park area near the 7400 block of Bethune Avenue on the morning of Oct. 26 when the suspect grabbed her and pulled into a secluded area.

The victim said the suspect assaulted her but she continued to fight back and screamed for help.

Witnesses in the area saw the suspect run away.

The suspect is described as:

• Mid 20s
• Approx. 5-foot-9 height with a thin build
• Brown hair, curly to wavy texture
• Series of small vertical scars of varying lengths on upper right cheek
• Light stubble on chin, along jawline
• He was last seen wearing a light blue or green-checkered pattern shirt and dark pants
