AUSTIN (KXAN) - LBJ High School was placed on lockdown just before noon Monday after school officials heard three shots fired in the area of Lazy Creek Drive.

Two men and one woman were in police custody. Their names have not been released.

Police then charged the two men with disorderly conduct and disarming a firearm in a public place.

According to APD, the female was later released.

APD also said two children were removed from the home where the people were arrested. Both children are safe, police said.

The high school lockdown was ordered at 11:50 a.m. as a precaution, Austin school district officials said. The lockdown was to have been lifted by about 1:15 p.m., officials said.

Officials said three shots were heard by school officials and police were called to the area. A neighbor also heard the gunshots, according to APD.

APD's Twitter feed stated, "Officers are working a shots-fired call in the 7200 block of  Chisos Pass. Preliminary reports are that two males were discharging a gun. Officers are in the area searching for the two suspects. Please avoid area if possible."
