Search is on for 2013 'CW Star'

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The CW Austin will hold a live open audition for the next CW Austin Star on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hill Country Galleria located at 12912 Hill Country Blvd, Bee Cave.

The CW Austin is looking for an energetic person who will be the face, the voice and the personality that is The CW Austin.

This young entertainment station covers national and local entertainment, and celebrity news including premieres, red carpets, concerts and events. The CW Austin Star will bring entertainment news to Central Texas and represent the station in many exciting ways.

Those interesting in applying should log onto thecwaustin.com to download an application and official contest rules.

Open Call requirements:

• All contestants need to have a completed application upon arrival.

• All contestants must bring legible copies of either:

1. Texas driver’s license
2. Out of state driver’s license and another appropriate photo ID

• All contestants will need to bring three photographs of themselves with their first and last name written on the back. (There will not be pictures taken that day by The CW.)

• For ALL audition requirements contestants can log onto thecwaustin.com .

At the casting call applicants will audition in front of a camera recording a sixty second video of why they should be the next CW Austin Star and answering questions from audition judges to accompany their application and photographs.

Numbers in line will be given out starting at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday. The number of people who want to have an audition may exceed the allotted time. Once the numbers in line for the estimated number of contestants who can be accommodated in seven hours of taping has been given out, The CW Austin will not be taking/taping any other applicants.

Can't make the audition?

Those who want to audition who are not available for the live audition may try out by submitting their video and application online at thecwaustin.com . The CW Austin will be accepting online submissions until Oct. 3.

The process

Five finalists will be selected. The CW Austin picks the Top 4 finalists from the live auditions and video submissions. Who is the fifth finalist? The decision is up to Austin! Fifteen semi-finalists will still have a chance at making the Top 5, but they have to win the online votes!

The Semi-Finalists' pleas will be posted on thecwaustin.com and it is up to the online community to decide who has what it takes to join the other finalists!

After five finalists are in place, they participate in weekly video challenges.

The new CW Austin Star for 2013 will be announced in November.
