AUSTIN (KXAN) - Emergency crews took six people to the hospital following a school bus crash Wednesday morning near Parmer Lane and U.S. Highway 290.
The accident happened at 8:15 a.m. when a white sedan rear-ended a Manor Independent School District bus headed east on the highway toward Manor High School, according to district spokeswoman Carrie Culpepper.
Austin police said they believe high school students were on board, some 25- to 30 students. Parents have been notified.
EMS crews evaluated 42 patients after the crash, which involved no serious injuries. The six people taken to the hospital were sent to St. David's Pflugerville and St. David's in Central Austin.
There is no information about whether police issued a citation.
Meanwhile, another accident involving a school bus happened Wednesday morning in Cedar Park on New Hope Drive east of U.S. Highway 183. District officials said it was a minor rear-ending at a railroad crossing and that there were no students on board as it headed back to the bus barn.
