Robber hits jewelry store, runs away

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police are looking for the man who robbed an East Austin jewelry store on Thursday afternoon and ran away with an undisclosed amount of money.

The called to the robbery at 1900 E. Oltorf St. went out at about 1:10 p.m.

Details were still sketchy around 2:45 p.m., but police the robber was seen walking or running west from the store toward a fast-food restaurant near Burton Drive.

They only provided a vague description of the robber.
