AUSTIN (KXAN) - The expression “all hat and no cattle” don’t have any meaning to Austinite Parvaneh Moayedi who now holds a Guinness Book of World Records title.

Moayedi and her husband, Steve Holehan spent many weekends running in marathons, a passion they’ve shared for the last 12-years.

The couple made a goal to run as many marathons as possible, beginning with one marathon a month. Over the past five-years they have run marathons in all 50-states. In 2010 they ran 30 marathons each. Moayediand Holehan have both run in 50 and 100-mile ultra-marathons as well as races on each of the seven-continents.

Her goal in 2012 was to run 70-marathons, which was double the number she ran in 2011. Moayedi broke the Guinness record for the most marathons ran in consecutive days by any female. She beat the old record by running 17 marathons in 17 days by four runs, the previous record was 13.

Her secret, she fueled the runs with protein-packed meals of lean beef. She’s a member of the 600-member statewide Texas Beef team. The family firmly believes her success and endurance is directly related to eating a healthy high protein meal. Parvaneh says she starts and finishes races with BEEF. She is passionate about debunking the myths surrounding beef and its nutritional benefits.

Moayedi lives in Central Texas, she’ll be running in the Houston Marathon this Sunday. She is currently training for the Jul. 2013 BadWater Ultra marathon, a 135-mile run from Death Valley to Mount Whitney. The race takes place in 135-degree heat and is completed in less than 48 hours.

Parvaneh, who came to the U.S. more than 30 years ago from Iran, is also a race director. She started the I Ran Marathons series in March of 2012 with a marathon, half marathon and ultra-marathon.

The second race was a two day event with a variety of races from 10K to 100 miler. The third event was three days of races with triple marathons, 50K and half marathon. There are two more multi-day races scheduled in 2012.
