Police need help finding attacker

Man assaulted a woman Saturday near East Stassney

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are asking for help find the man who assaulted a woman on Saturday.

The assault happened near East Stassney Lane and Pleasant Valley Road in the late evening, officials said.

Police said that while in that area, the victim noticed the suspect. The suspect followed the victim and knocked her to the ground. The suspect pulled out a knife and threatened to kill the woman.

While the victim was fighting off the suspect, she acquired many defensive wounds. The suspect ran away when the victim started screaming for help said authorities. 

The suspect is described as:

  • Hispanic man
  • Light complexion
  • Late teens to early 20s
  • Thin build
  • 5-0 to 6-foot
  • Dark, thick hair
  • Spanish speaker
