AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force is looking for Mario Angeles-Hernandez, the 23-year-old suspect charged with endangering a child in the death of 13-year-old Sophia Martinez.
Authorities are also looking for Jose Garcia-Zavala related to that case -- wanted on a probation violation for allegedly drinking alcohol that night.
Meanwhile, the funeral for the Garcia Middle School student happened at 10 a.m. at Cook-Walden Funeral Home on North Lamar Boulevard.
Police said they believe she died of alcohol poisoning, but they're still waiting on an autopsy to be sure.
Homicide detectives said Friday they’ve put a rush on Sophia's toxicology report, hoping to have the results back within 10 days to see exactly how the teen died on New Year’s Day.
Sophia was left unconscious in the driveway of a friend’s home on a night where her friends told police she had several shots of vodka and whiskey.
According to an arrest warrant affidavit released Friday, Hernandez and another man supplied Sophia and her 15-year-old friend with the shots of alcohol on New Year’s Eve.
Sophia was pronounced dead the next morning at a hospital.
Based on interviews with the 15-year-old, police determined Sophia was given at least five servings of vodka and four servings of whiskey.
The other girl said that she also drank alcohol -- enough to blur her vision. When the 15-year-old awoke the next morning, Sophia was unresponsive and not breathing.
Hernandez is wanted on the felony charge of child endangerment. In addition, police indicated further charges are possible.
