AUSTIN (KXAN) - Police are investigating the year's third homicide in South Austin after firefighters found the man in a field neighboring a gas station.
Investigators said the man, in his late 50s, is homeless.
Austin Police Officer Traver Stefan said the call came in before 10 a.m. Tuesday after firefighters, who happened to be at the store, found the man in the field next to the Valero gas station at 6009 East Ben White Blvd.
That's on the frontage road heading south, which is also near Montopolis Drive.
There is no word on what kind of injuries the man had.
