PFLUGERVILLE, Texas (KXAN) - The sight of a person with a gun near Pflugerville High School on Friday afternoon kept students at school a few extra minutes after the school day had ended.

Just before 4 p.m., a citizen reported seeing a person with a weapon about half a mile from the PHS campus.

According to a letter from the school's principal, when Pflugerville ISD police were notified of the report and initiated protective measures as a precaution.

Staff and students were kept inside the building and students who were on school buses in the parking lot were moved back into the school.

After about 15 minutes, Pflugerville police located the suspect, who was in possession of an airsoft gun. Police alerted the District and campus staff that it was safe to release students.

At no time was the campus, its students or staff in danger.
