Pedestrian hit in South Austin

Man taken to hospital

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Austin police are investigating an accident that sent a pedestrian to the hospital Monday night.

Police say a 60-year-old man was hit by a woman driving a white Chevy pickup near a bus stop at Manchaca and Slaughter just after 7:30 p.m.

The woman stopped and rendered aide. Police say the man was conscious and breathing but do not know his condition.

The man was taken to University Medical Center Brackenridge with unknown injuries.

No word on what caused the accident but witnesses believe the pedestrian was at fault.
