AUSTIN (KXAN) - The Clean Air Force of Central Texas has issued a Level Orange Ozone Watch which will go in effect on Thursday.
The counties included in the watch are Hays, Travis, Williamson, Caldwell and Bastrop .
An ozone watch happens when high ozone levels are expected to happen. Citizens, business and industries are asked to plan ahead and consider the ways they can reduce the pollutants that contribute to these high ozone levels.
Children, the elderly, and peoples with chronic lung diseases such as asthma and emphysema should try to avoid going outdoors on this day.
The Clean Air Force of Central Texas suggests proactive steps which include telecommuting, carpooling, and running all your errands in one trip. The Clean Air Force also suggests skipping the drive-though lanes at lunchtime.
If you would like to learn about more ways you can reduce air pollutants, or you would like to receive ozone forecast alerts please visit the Clean Air Force of Central Texas website.
