AUSTIN (KXAN) - A short pursuit in northeast Austin sends five people to the hospital on Thursday afternoon.
Austin police said a burglary happened in the 9900 block of Childress around 2 p.m.
Shortly after the burglary, officers spotted the suspect vehicle, a red pickup truck, and attempted to pull the vehicle over but the driver sped away.
Police said a short chase ensued but ended at Cameron Road and Rutherford Lane when the vehicle struck a van and then flipped.
One person in the suspect vehicle was ejected and three others in the vehicle were also injured. The innocent driver was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
Police said the person who was ejected has serious injuries.
