Old Beauty Ballroom to be new home for Antone's

AUSTIN (KXAN) - The new home for Antone's will be the old home of the Beauty Ballroom.
Frank Hendrix, who manages Antone's and owns Emo's, confirmed Friday that the venerable blues nightclub will set up shop at 2015 E Riverside sometime after South By Southwest ends but before April. Last week, Hendrix announced that Antones would vacate its present location on West Fifth Street.
Like several one-time staples of Austin's Downtown music scene, Antone's on Fifth Street has been hampered by a lack of convenient parking.
Emo's already has made the move to East Austin.
Even before Hendrix confirmed the new location, the entertainment site, C3Concerts.com, was promoting a May 1 event at Antone's at 2015 E. Riverside.
