More sex charges filed against 'pastor'

Four woman have come forward

AUSTIN (KXAN) - Tuesday, the Austin Police Department tacked on more sexual abuse charges against a man who remains in custody, arrested in October , after another alleged victim came forward and told her story to police.

Francisco Antonio Hernandez, 53, is charged with indecency with a child by contact, a second-degree felony. A bond of $20,000 was added for the new charge.

A total of four women, who were each about 7 years old when Hernandez allegedly abused them, have given statements to police about the crimes. The women said the abuse happened about 20 years ago. The girls knew Hernandez as "Pastor Javier," because he was the pastor of a church where their families attended church services.

The mother of the the latest victim to come forward filed a sworn outcry statement with APD on Sept. 15. She told police that she went out of town for a family emergency one weekend all those years ago, and the child stayed with the pastor and his wife during the weekend when the sexual abuse allegedly occurred.

The victim's mother told police that Hernandez came to her home about three days before she reported the assault to APD -- after her daughter told her about it -- because he wanted to ask the victim and her sister for forgiveness. The mother told him to leave, according to the police report.

The victim told police one of the things the "pastor" did was to have her and her sister watch him and his wife having sex. The affidavit details sexual contact made by Hernandez with just one of the sisters, however.

Hernandez was first arrested after two other victims gave police their stories. He is being held in Travis County Jail.
