AUSTIN (KXAN) - A partnership that includes former Longhorns quarterback Colt McCoy plans to open two dozen Dunkin Donuts outlets in the Austin area starting next year.
The new group, Coffee Action West, plans to open 21 traditional restaurants and three Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin-Robbins combination units, the organization said Monday in a statement.
"We are excited to expand Dunkin' Donuts' presence in the Austin Metro Area and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here," said Dale Mulvey, Dunkin' Donuts franchisee. "
According to the statement, the Austin area is no longer available for franchise sales. But development opportunities remain in other areas of Texas.
"To drive its expansion efforts, Dunkin' Donuts has aligned its strategy to support the growth opportunities and consumer needs of individual markets," the statement said. "As a result, the company continues to expand with single and multi-unit opportunities with no minimum unit requirements."
Currently, there is a Dunkin Donuts outlet on North U.S. 183.
