MANOR, Texas (KXAN) - A Manor Independent School District bus driver was fired on Friday and arrested Thursday without incident after officials viewed bus surveillance video which showed him commit a sexual act against an elementary school girl. She was the only student on the bus at the time.

Manor ISD officials and police investigated the driver's conduct after they received a report that involved the safety of a student.

The driver, identified as Gilbert Briseno, 62, served Manor Elementary School, Manor Middle School and Manor High School.

Briseno is being charged with continuous sexual assault of a young child, a first-degree felony. The arrest affidavit said it's been happening to her for four years.

The child told police that Briseno would buy her candy and chips, even when her mother did not want her to have them.

Child Protective Services were called right away when the sex assault was first identified and a complaint lodged by the child's mother, officials said Thursday.

In a statement posted on the district's website, officials stressed that student safety is important:

"The safety and well being of our students is our top priority. Any deviation from this expectation will not be tolerated. The MISD employees undergo extensive background checks and are required to  participate in ongoing professional trainings to ensure they are providing the highest level of service for our students and community."

Parents of Manor ISD who have any reason to believe their child or children may have information about this situation or were themselves harmed in any way are asked to contact Kevin Brackmeyer at 512-278-4002.

Briseno is being held on $200,000 bond.
