TRAVIS COUNTY, Texas (KXAN) - A man who acknowledged shooting another man to death in a drug dispute two years ago pleaded guilty to a murder charge on Wednesday.

Simel Steiner told police at the time of his arrest that he shot and killed Damon Rittenhouse, 23, on Oct. 24, 20120, because Rittenhouse was selling drugs that he stolen from him.

Steiner is facing a sentence of two to 20 years.

Travis County Sheriff's officials said Steiner set up a buy with Rittenhouse and shot him when he arrived at the meeting in the 14300 block of FM 969 , near Delta Post Drive.

Steiner allegedly backed his vehicle up into a parking space and then fired several shots into the car Rittenhouse was in around 3:15 p.m. Sunday.

Both vehicles left the parking lot, and the vehicle with Rittenhouse inside went to a parking lot at the corner of Decker Lane and Decker Lane Road .

That's when someone inside the vehicle called 911, and Austin-Travis County EMS took Rittenhouse to University Medical Center Brackenridge - where he later died.
